We will charge you the retail price shown on the site at the time of order plus any delivery and gift wrapping charges. Cook the Books will meet our obligations as set out in the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. All prices quoted include GST. For orders placed outside of New Zealand, the price advertised might not be the same as that charged to your credit card account due to exchange rate fluctuations. This means that because we are based in New Zealand we have to convert your purchase to New Zealand dollars at the exchange rate on the day it is processed.

Our Returns Policy

Products purchased on this site can be returned, subject to the following conditions.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

All products purchased on this site can be returned if damaged (in transit or by no fault of your own) or faulty for a replacement product.
These items must be returned to our store immediately. Please email us at books@cookthebook.co.nz and provide your sales order number and the details of the title/s concerned.

Changed your mind?

DVD's and CD's cannot be returned unless faulty or damaged.
Books, Stationery, homewares (e.g. "Esther Diamond") items can be returned (within 30 days) with proof of purchase (the receipt shipped with the item/s) for a full refund, provided the item is in an unused and re-sellable condition.
Items can be returned to our store at 81 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby, Auckland. This does not apply to damaged goods, only to items that are unused and in re-sellable condition.
The cost of returning a product you no longer want (within 30 days) is your responsibility.

Credit Cards

Cook the Books accepts the following credit cards: Amex, Mastercard, Visa. All online credit card transactions are secured with SSL encryption and are handled by DPS which is certified by the banks in New Zealand. www.dps.co.nz. No credit card details are held on any of our systems or in any paper format.
