Amanda Laird has spent a lifetime surrounded by food. She has been the food editor of Viva magazine in The New Zealand Herald for the past five years, producing a weekly offering of recipes to tempt home cooks. Amanda lives in south Auckland and together with her husband they own a cafe, Ruby Red, in Mangere Bridge, opened in 2010.
