The diet works on identifying then eliminating or restricting certain kinds of food that cause bowel irritation. In the last decade, the Low-FODMAP Diet has come to be regarded as the most effective treatment for the symptoms of IBS, providing relief in 75 per cent of patients. The Two-Step Low-FODMAP Diet and Recipe Book details the two-phase program that helps readers implement the diet by restricting certain foods, then gradually re-introducing key ingredients, making the diet practical, accessible and suitable for a journey of healthy eating. As well, there are over 80 recipes, using readily available ingredients, and weekly meal plans to help readers start the diet and maintain it over the longer-term.
